This is our parody of The Crocodile Hunter. We swapped the Australian outback for the leafy suburbs of Ayr, and what we found was quite wild!

Had a search around for a suitable (free) host for Podcasts. I had tried OurMedia where I have movies stored but seem to have some technical difficulties with the site.
However, seems to have resolved the problems. Here is a podcast made by some pgde students who learned about and created this in 1 hour

During the next three sessions you will be creating your own media files – movies and podcasts. We will then be embedding these into this blog (and yours to if you so wish!)
Below is a link to a video hosted at Google videos. You can use this or YouTube to upload your video to.
I will have a search and find a good host site for the podcasts. If you come across one, please let me know.

The general opinion seems to be that blogs can be a very useful tool in the classroom but what we perhaps need to consider now (to convince some of the doubters?) is ways of using the blogs.
What I am looking for are either links to school blogs which you think are good examples or links to sites where teachers share their ideas or, better still, some of your own ideas on how you might use them.
As a starter I have come across this really useful site which contains lots of useful stuff including classroom ideas for using new technologies. Once you have had a look at the ideas, do have a look at the rest of the site.
I plan to use one of the online tutorials from here for the podcast session.

I do see a use for blogging in the classroom. It’s a great way of sharing learning and parents can see what their children have been doing in class. I’m sure children would love working on the internet and taking responsibility for their posts.
